Quinoa Green

For a protein-full, antioxidant rich, nutrient packed day starter, I choose this recipe. The drink has a nutty flavor which I love. I find that most protein powders are flavored with either vanilla or chocolate, have a bitter sweet taste, or too sweet, or taste chalky. So I came up with my perfect protein packed recipe that works for me every time.

I highly recommend blending with a high quality blender like the Vitamix for a smooth, liquified result.

You need:

  • Baby spinach
  • Baby kale
  • 1 Cucumber
  • Hemp seeds
  • Frozen fruit (your choice)
  • Nut butter of your choice
  • Cooked quinoa

Directions

In a high powered blender, combine, blend and enjoy

  • 10-12 ounces water
  • 1 cup kale (or a handful)
  • 1 cup spinach (or a handful)
  • 1/2 a medium sized cucumber
  • 1/4 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1 tablespoon nut butter (I prefer sunflower seed butter)
  • 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 1-2 cups your choice of frozen fruit
